The Chris Weis Band is an up and coming Christian Country band based out of Athens, Texas. The sound is an eclectic mix of classic country and Red Dirt country with a blue grass edge. The bands debut CD was produced by legendary producer Don Johnson and is set to release early 2013. Johnson is the long time producer and music director for Ricky Skaggs and Emmylou Harris. You can definitely hear the blue grass influences on the album.

Lead singer and band founder Chris Weisinger was born in Athens the youngest of 2 children. Chris was active in church as a child and started singing at an early age. Chris started playing guitar and wrote his first song Brand New Start at the age of 21. Brand New Start is the title track from the CD. Although Chris was active in Church he did not accept Christ as his Savior until April of 1994. In June of 1994 Chris took a job with a Christian Camp in Colorado and while there he was severely injured in a climbing accident. Through the prayers of many believers GOD delivered Chris through this devastating time and completely healed him.

After college, Chris got involved with some musicians who were playing the local bar scene. Chris thought it would be easy to play the bar scene and thought it would not affect his walk. Oh was he wrong. Chris started drinking a few beers here and there and before long he said he was getting drunk several times a week. Chris stated that at one point he was playing the bar scene on the weekend and leading worship on Sunday morning. Chris said he knew GOD was calling him to do something else. In May of 2012 Chris made the decision to stop playing the bar scene and follow GOD's lead. As soon as he started following GOD's will he was blessed abundantly. In May of 2012 Chris heard a song called Different Kind of Crown written by Billy Droze. Chris recorded the song sent it to Tate Music Group. Within days Chris was offered a recording and Marketing deal with Tate. Chris is looking forward to the release of the album and cant wait to see how GOD uses this ministry to reach the lost.
